Mrs. Claus will return to Ironton to read to the children and give out candy canes.
Ironton aLive will have its annual seasonal event with Mrs. Claus on Saturday, which kicks off with the Campbell Chapel Choir singing seasonal songs from the main stairs of the Ironton City Center at 6:30 p.m.
After that, Mrs. Claus will read. This year, children do not need to bring blankets as chairs will be provided.
Also during the event, Ironton aLive will draw names for the winners of the Ironton Bucks passport contest from the Small Business Saturday event. First place gets $300, second place gets $200 and third place gets $125. Also awarded will the Ironton Bucks prize for the Find the Elf contest. Ironton Bucks can only be spent in Ironton at the many participating businesses.
“It’s going to be a good time,” said Ironton aLive’s executive director Sam Heighton. “So everyone should bring down their kids to hear a Christmas story with Mrs. Claus and get some candy canes.”
