Frances Newsome
Aug. 4, 1934 — Dec. 10, 2018
Frances Lee Newsome, 84, of Willow Wood, departed this life on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at home. She was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Belo, West Virginia, eldest daughter of the late John Ooten and Vicie Dempsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Carmen Newsome.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie (Pam) Newsome, Teresa Blankenship and Kinberly (Larry) Baisden; grandchildren, Josh (LeeAnn) Blankenship, Phillip (Shuo) Blankenship, Jessica (Jack) Vance, Derek Newsome, Isaac (Xiny) Baisden and Ashley (Dave) Knipp; great-grandchildren, Julian and Darian Vance, Cheyenne Blankenship, Emily Blankenship, Jonathan and James Vance, Liam Newsome Lafferty and Grayson Knipp; siblings, Ebbie Adkins, Elvina Shipman, Deanna Dempsey, Sherry and Merle Dempsey, and Freddie and Debi Dempsey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, with pastor Larry Casteel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Scottown. Bonnie White

Bonnie Kay White, 69, of South Shore, Kentucky, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth. Mrs. White was born Oct. 23, 1949, in Huntington, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Gerald and Mannie Ethel (Vine) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Leon White.
Mrs. White was a graduate of Symmes Valley High School. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie “Dewayne” White; brother, Jerry “Butch” Thompson; and nephew, Charles “Chuckie” Self.
She is survived by a son, Timothy White, of Ironton; brother, John (Teresa) Thompson; and two sisters, Linda (Steve) Thompson Williams, and (her twin), Beverly Mae (Charles) Thompson Self.

Patsy Waulk

Patsy Ann Waulk, 71, of Coal Grove, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, surrounded by her family. The Lawrence County native was born May 9, 1947, a daughter of the late Ollie and Emma Lewis Nichols. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Waulk Sr., whom she married on March 10, 1970.
Patsy was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, a self-employed home health care worker and of the Baptist faith. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She loved her Pittsburgh Steelers, Elvis and feeding her birds and squirrels.
She is survived by five sons, Steve Murphy, Kenneth Waulk, Jr., both of Deering, Travis (Crystal) Waulk, of South Point, and Shane (Nadine) McMackin and Mike Nichols, both of Kingsport, Tennessee; five daughters, Melissa (Don) Litton, of Ironton, Sonja (Rick) Starr, of Franklin, Kendra Lister, of Ironton, and Katonda “Bambi” Waulk and Tara Waulk, both of Ashland, Kentucky; 29 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Mark Roach officiating.. Burial will follow in Ice Creek Cemetery and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family asks in honor of Patsy, you wear Steelers’ black and yellow to the viewing.
