SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers are an equal opportunity scoring team.
The Lady Pointers had eight different players score as they beat the Lewis County Lady Lions 47-39 on Monday.
Emilee Carey had 16 points to lead the unbeaten Lady Pointers (5-0) while Ashley Perkey, Maddy Khounlavong and Emilee Whitt all scored seven points each.
Perkey was dominant on the boards with 16 rebounds including nine on the offensive end. Khounlavong had four assists while Whitt and Carey had two steals apiece.
Payton McGlone had 10 points for the Lady Lions (4-4).
South Point led 13-4 after the first quarter as Whitt and Carey each hit triples and Perkey added four points.
Carey had another trey and scored five points in the second quarter and the lead was 22-12 at the half. McGlone had four points for Lewis County.
Carey drained a pair of trifectas and scored eight points in the third quarter while the defense held Lewis County to a single basket by Sarah Weddington and the lead was now a comfortable 38-14.
The Lady Pointers began to empty the bench in the fourth quarter and Lewis County outscored them 25-9.
Tierra Tully scored all nine of her points and Aliyah Horsley all seven of her total in the fourth quarter for Lewis County.
South Point visits Wheelersburg on Wednesday.
