SCIOTOVILLE — After high school, don’t be surprised if there isn’t a business called Leith & Leith.
Brothers Jack and Luke Leith combined for 47 points and 33 rebounds as the Symmes Valley Vikings beat the Sciotoville East Tartans 81-69 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Tuesday.
Jack Leith had 31 points, 20 rebounds and five blocked shots while Luke Leith had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Not to be outdone, Drew Scherer had a big game with 19 points for the Vikings (2-5, 2-4). Trenton Turner added eight points and Josh Ferguson seven.
“We played some really good basketball picking up our second SOC road win of the season,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Coffman.
“I thought we played really good team basketball. We moved the ball really well and got contributions from everyone on the roster.”
Kyle Flannery scored 30 points for East while Will Shope had 13 and Sean Hollon added 10.
Jack Leith had seven points and Scherer five including a 3-pointter and the game was tied at 19. Flannery scored 11 and Hollon six as East kept pace.
The Vikings pulled ahead 43-35 at the half as Jack Leith and Scherer scored 10 points each in the second quarter. Flannery and Shope had eight each in the quarter.
Symmes Valley began to pull away in third quarter but taking a 68-46 lead. Luke Leith had eight points while Jack Leith and Scherer got six each.
Jack Leith had seven more points, Luke Leith four and Turner was 3-of-4 at the line as the Vikings outscored East 21-15 in the final quarter. Flannery had seven points for the Tartans.
“This (win) gives us a chance to get back in the gym and get back to work heading into a couple of big games over the weekend,” said Coffman.
Symmes Valley will host Portsmouth Clay on Friday and South Webster on Saturday.
