Clarence Anderson

Nov. 8, 1940 — Dec. 30, 2018

Clarence “Luke” Anderson, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 8, 1940, to the late Lonnie Anderson and Rebecca Large Anderson at Forrestdale.
Mr. Anderson attended Coal Grove High School. He married his beloved wife, Verlene Ruggles Anderson, Aug. 26, 1961. Mr. Anderson retired from TBA Mansonry in Florida in 1989. He was a lifelong musician and most recently played bass with The Country Knights. He was a member of New Valley Missionary Baptist Church and attended Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church for the past 25 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Eugene Anderson and Jimmy L. Anderson; sisters, Janet Stapleton and Donna Gail Clifton; and great-grandson, Charlie McFann.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Verlene; sons, Luke (Lisa) Anderson and Mark Anderson, all of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Kendra (Dallas) Savino, of South Point, Becky (Aaron) Dumbaugh, of Raceland, Kentucky, Kenny Anderson and Mark (Shanna) Anderson, all of Ironton, Kody and Kaelyn Anderson, of Grayson, Kentucky, and Brett Anderson, of Michigan; nine great-grandchildren, Braydon and Kadin Shore, Kami, Gianna and Kase Savino, Autumn, Beau and Marbie Anderson, and baby boy Anderson, due April 2019; a sister, Sue Vallence, and a brother, Roger Anderson, both of Ironton; and special in-laws, Homer Ruggles, Arnold (Sue) Ruggles, Juanita (Raymond) Mullens, Delores (Andy) Nelson, and Fealden Jr. (Brenda) Ruggles.
Funeral services will be were conducted Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton. Mr. Anderson’s grandsons served as pallbearers and his former band mates as honorary pallbearers. Edward Duncan III

July 16, 1973 — Dec. 30, 2018

Edward Albert Duncan III, 45, of Coal Grove, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton. The Fort Knox, Kentucky native was born July 16, 1973, the son of the late Edward Albert Duncan Jr. and Betty Fultz Jenkins, of Ironton.
Mr. Duncan was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a self-contractor for over 25 years. He enjoyed working, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Edward Duncan; two brothers, Earl Munyan and Michael Duncan; and his stepfather, Earl Munyan Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Eddie (Brittany) Duncan, of Ironton; a daughter, Courtney (Ryan) Albright, of Pedro; grandchildren, Emma, Ella and Evan Albright, and another on the way; a sister, Brenda Wolfe; a brother, William Matthew Pedigo, of Ironton; and best friends, Marty and Angie Fraley.

Tommy Kelly

April 28, 1945 — Jan. 1, 2019

Tommy Garland Kelly, 73, of Deering, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019. He was born April 28, 1945, son of the late Garland and Lillian Boggs Kelly. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Morris; and a brother, Danny Joe Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kay Kelly; three sons, Timothy (Carol) Kelly and Chad (Tracy) Kelly, of Coal Grove, and Kenneth (Kisha) Kelly, of South Point; three grandsons, Josh and Brad Kelly, and one very special grandson, who was his best buddy, Zack Kelly, all of Coal Grove; a very special adopted granddaughter, Jennifer Hatton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Coal Grove High School, a retiree of AK Steel after 37 years of service and a proud veteran, after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Funeral service will be noon Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Friends may visit two hours prior the service Friday at the funeral home.

Larry Wilson Sr.

March 15, 1952 — Jan. 1, 2019

Larry “Stretch” Wilson Sr., 66, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at Community Hospice of Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born March 15, 1952, a son of the late Lawrence Wilson and Mary Pulley Coyer. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Darlene Hoptry Wilson.
Larry was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Ironton and was a graduate of South Point High School. He worked at Garrett Tires as an off-the-road tire repairer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry (Kayla Johnson) Wilson Jr., of Ironton; a grandson, Aiden Wilson, of Lucasville; a brother, Steve (Julia) Wilson, of Russell, Kentucky; a brother, Mike (Dana) Pearson, of Ironton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
