Greater Huntington Walks recently announced its new collective walking goal of 5 million miles for 2019. The new collective goal will be divided into four quarterly challenges, each with different “destinations” for participants. All quarterly goal steps will be counted toward the overall collective goal.

The first quarterly challenge is “Destination Vacation,” which allows walkers to virtually travel to exotic destinations. All registered walkers who complete 200,000 steps per month from January to March will be entered into a drawing for a destination vacation for two to Myrtle Beach, including airfare and lodging, courtesy of Huntington Tri-State Airport and Travel Doctors, Inc. The drawing will take place in April.

The mission of Greater Huntington Walks is for the Greater Huntington area to be viewed as a healthy and active community for people to live, work and visit. It aims to promote and enhance the health of people by encouraging walking and activity and working together to achieve a publicly-stated goal.
