Terry Minard

May 5, 1956 — Jan. 23, 2019

Terry Minard, 62, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born May 5, 1956, the son of the late Walter Lee and Thelma Easterling, and also his parents who raised him, Everett and Myrtle Shope Easterling. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Lavender Minard.
Terry was a graduate of Ironton High School and worked in the dietary service department at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and playing the guitar and banjo. He is of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Minard; three brothers, William Evertt and Junior and Gene Easterling; five sisters, Norma Dodson, Clara Henry, Marietta Easterling, Virinia Lee Easterling and Ruby Brown; and a half-sister, Pam Sanders.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Reese (Jessica) Minard and Jerry “JR” Minard, both of Phoenix, Arizona; a stepson, T.J. Gladeau, of Ironton; three grandsons, Gary Minard, of Ironton, Zack Minard, of Arizona, and Bryce Minard, of Arizona; four sisters, Beverly (Randy) Taylor, Kay (Ted) Vanhorn, Margie Stuart and Patty (Paul) West; two brothers, John (Debbie) Easterling and Bobby Easterling; a half-sister, Kay Kay Sanders; and three half-brothers, Chuck Sanders, Billy Sanders and Robert Sanders.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Kevin West officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. David Whitt

July 19, 1956 — Jan. 24, 2019

Carl “David” Whitt, 62, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at a local health care facility. The Ironton native was born July 19, 1956, the son of the late Carl “Bus” and Ruth Walizer Whitt.
David was a graduate of Ironton High School and a former industrial machine erector for the Union Millwright Local 1755 of Parkersburg, West Virginia. He loved music, enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, working on old Fords and he made his own knives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Robert Casey, Jack Newman and Ronnie Davis; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Clinton Whitt.
He is survived by a daughter, Erica Whitt; and her mother, Geneva Newhouser Whitt; and two who he treated like his own, Jennifer Harrison and Bradly Harrison, all of Ironton; four sisters, Patsy Casey, of Jacksonville, Florida, Janie Davis and Penny Newman, both of Ironton, and Carla (Mick) Briggs, of Ashland, Kentucky; two brothers, Randy (Brenda) Whitt and Charlie (Joy) Whitt, all of Ironton; his loving companion, Janet Cremeans, of Ironton; seven nephews; four nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Kenny Klaiber officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Nyle Pemberton

July 4, 1940 — Jan. 23, 2019

Nyle M. Pemberton, 78, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born July 4, 1940, a son of the late Donald Pemberton and Virginia Bucklyn Pemberton Sorensen. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Moreland Pemberton.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Chaplain Randy Tate officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery and friend may call from noon until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Carmel Lewis, 92, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
