On Thursday, Jan. 31, Mayor Katrina Keith will hold a crucial meeting regarding the future of the City of Ironton. This meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the rotunda of the Riffe Center on the Ohio University campus.

Over the last few weeks, many meaningful comments have been made about the City of Ironton’s financial situation. It is now time to face reality and ask the question “What are we going to do?”

Yes, we need to increase revenue, but how? Now is the time to be transparent and be open to all revenue-producing suggestions.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to this important meeting. Your ideas could make up the solution that will solve Ironton’s financial dilemma.

To quote the ancient Chinese proverb, “It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”
