PEDRO — The Coal Grove Hornets one-two punch was swinging away.
The Hornets’ top two scorers did their job on Saturday as Aaron Music and Cory Borders combined for 38 points in a 65-46 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Rock Hill Redmen.
Music had a game-high 21 points and Borders hit three 3-pointers as he scored 17 points and the Hornets improved to 14-6 overall and 9-4 in the league.
Kadin France scored 18 points for the Redmen (3-17, 0-12).
Jaylen McKenzie scored all four of his points in the first quarter as Coal Grove took a 13-9 lead. Jake Blagg had four points for Rock Hill.
The Hornets pulled away to a 33-17 halftime lead as Music had six points, Evan Holmes dialed up a pair of long distance shots from behind the arc and both Evan Gannon and Borders hit trifectas.
France got four points for the Redmen.
Coal Grove extended its lead to 53-28 after three quarters as Music poured in 11 points. Garrett Miller had all seven of his points for Rock Hill and Owen Hankins scored four.
Borders hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points in the fourth quarter.
France had 11 points and Caleb Davis a 3-pointer for the Redmen.
Rock Hill hosts St. Joseph on Tuesday and visits Fairland on Friday. Coal Grove hosts South Point on Friday.
