Wilma Vermillion

April 26, 1946 — Feb. 11, 2019

Wilma Jean Vermillion, 94, passed away Feb 11, 2019, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Wilma was born in West Virginia and raised in Ohio. She was united in marriage to Charles Vermillion on April 26, 1946. She worked in the production area at Frito Lay and is a member of the Baptist Faith.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Effie (Simpson) Gossett; 12 siblings, husband, Charles, in 1992; daughter, Lou Ann Hourigan Osmers; and a son, Charles Lanny Vermillion.
Survivors include daughter, Jane Sorensen, of Oakland, Iowa.; son, Keith Vermillion; and wife Ann, of Council Bluffs, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
Wilma will be laid to rest with husband Charles in a private interment at Garner Township Cemetery, Council Bluffs.

 

Kathy Kellogg

Aug. 23, 1950 — Feb. 11, 2019

Kathy Ann Kellogg, 68, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Dowagiac, Michigan native was born Aug. 23, 1950, a daughter of the late Alvin and Vola McNeil Dinnell. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie E. Kellogg, whom she married March 20, 1976.
Kathy was a graduate of Berrien Springs High School and was a homemaker. She was previously a former owner of a florist and craft store for 10 years. She was of the Baptist faith for more than 60 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jo Pultz; two brothers, Michael Dinnell and William La Motte; three sisters, Harriett Brown, Gail Herd and Cindy Dinnell; a son-in-law, Rod Allen; and a grandson, Christopher Kazi.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Trisha Estle and Cloetine (Tim) Pfeiffer, both of Ashland, Kentucky, and Tracie Kellogg, of Coal Grove; seven grandchildren, Monchel Estle, Kacy Pfeiffer and Kazlie Morris, all of Ashland, Kentucky, Blaze Kellogg, Sari Kellogg and Katron Kellogg, all of Coal Grove, and Anna Pfeiffer, of Paw Paw, Illinois.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Gary Arthurs officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101. Ruby Mannon

May 7, 1930 — Feb. 10, 2019

Ruby S. Long Mannon, 88, of Deering, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She was born May 7, 1930, to the late Howard and Estella Moore Long. She was the widow of William “Bill” Mannon.
She was a retired cook from Dawson-Bryant schools.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard “Ricky” Mannon; three brothers, Chester “Buddy” Long, Harold Long and Ambrose Long; and two sisters, Eloise Jenkins and Judy Long.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William L. Jr. and Shirley Mannon, of Andis; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and Steve Easterling, of Deering; two granddaughters, Laurie and Wes Harmon, of Deering, and Julie and Mike Bias, of South Point; one grandson, Stevie Easterling, of Deering; two great-grandsons, Jerimy Allen and Weston Harmon; two sisters, Ruth Strong, of Courtland, and Lucile Sparks, of Ironton; two step-granddaughters, Lee Ann and Roy Williams, and Kara and Daniel Cordle; five step-great-grandchildren, Scottie, Cayla and Paityn Williams, Blake Perry and Jackson Cordle.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, Ironton. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday with Larry Pennington officiating with a two-hour visitation prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth “Wilson” French, 60, of Pedro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019.
A celebration of life will be 1 p.m. Saturday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, with Fr. David Huffman officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date for burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Pine Grove. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, is handling arrangements.

LaVerna Gail Polley, 78, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. There will be no services. Goldie Gilbert

Goldie Gilbert, 86, of Proctorville, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Wyngate at RiversEdge, Proctorville. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
