Senior Citizens Day set for May 14

Volunteers, vendors sought for annual event

The Lawrence County Senior Citizens Day will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at the activities barn at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in Rome Township.

This year, they are going with a country/western theme.

The Lawrence County Senior Citizens Organization is looking for vendors for the event and are encouraging to decorate to go along with this year’s country/western theme.

Vendors can get a 10×10 booth for free if they register before Thursday, March 28. If the vendor has a canopy with a business name on it, please feel free to bring it along to be set up outside the barn.

Lawrence County Senior Citizens Organization is asking that, in order to make the event more fun for seniors, vendors are being asked to supply a door prize, valued at $35 or more, that can be given away during the festivities.

Door prizes must be turned in to any City National Bank location or Collins Career Technical Center, no later than April 16.

They must have the door prize in their possession no later than April 16. Vendors are also encouraged to bring items to their booths that can be passed out, such as candy, key  chains or pens, etc.

The organization is also in need of volunteers to help and donations to fund the event.
