Dollie Gillen

Dollie F. Gillen, 94, of Chesapeake, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019.
She was born Oct. 8, 1924 in Fort Gay, West Virginia, daughter of the late Luther and Mary Thompson Copley.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, H. Robert “Bob” Gillen; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Milton “Jabo”) Jordan; and a brother, Bobby Wray Copley.
A homemaker who cherished time with her family, Dollie also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington.
She is survived by her two children, Donna (Bill) Dingus, of South Point, and Hunter Gillen, of Chesapeake; two brothers, Luke Copley, of South Point, and Birch (Janet) Copley, of Proctorville; grandchildren, Cara Dingus (Dominick) Brook, of Logan, Rebecca Dingus, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Parker Gillen, of Chesapeake, and Leslie (Mike) Rickman, of Cincinnati; great grandchildren, Hugh Oliver Brook, Darian French, Bella Rickman, Bo Rickman, Chase Rickman and Seth Rickman; and a special niece, Debbie Jordan Pierce, of Gallipolis.
Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point. A private burial will take place Saturday morning at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville. Michael Maynard
Michael Ray Maynard, 46, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Maynard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake. Visitation will be held from 6–8 p.m. Friday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake.
