Redwomen rally past Lady Oaks
PEDRO — Haleigh Rowe is not a one-woman offensive machine. But there are times when she likes to pretend.
Rowe did more than pretend as she went 3-for-4 with two doubles and five runs batted to help the Rock Hill Redwomen rally past the Oak Hill Lady Oaks 7-6 on Monday.
Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead in the first on singles by Grace Stevens and Kylee Howard and a double by Rowe.
The lead went to 4-0 in the third when Stevens reached on an error, Howard walked and both Makenzie Hanshaw and Rowe singled.
Oak Hill got a run in the fifth on a double by Baleigh McNerlin and Amy Lewis’ base hit and then rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh to lead 6-4.
McNerlin singled to open the inning and then Lewis, Caitlyn Brisker, Kailey Adkins and Timea Burnett all doubled.
But the Redwomen answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Stevens and Howard started the rally with singles and Hanshaw walked. Rowe stepped in and belted a double to the fence scoring two runs to tie the game.
Baylie Harrah then hit a chopper over third base to score Rowe with the winning run.
Besides Rowe, Howard and Hanshaw were 2-3 and Stevens 2-4.
