SCIOTOVILLE — Somebody forgot to tell the Green Bobcats it wasn’t senior night.
Green’s four seniors — Tanner Kimbler, Tayte Carver, Bryce Ponn and Cade Blizzard — all made contributions as the Bobcats blanked the Sciotoville East Tartans 11-0 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Wednesday.
“We have four seniors and all four contributed. Carver drove in two, Kimbler scored three runs, Caden Blizzard drove in a run and Ponn had four RBI,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.
“You expect seniors to lead by example and they did just that.”
Carver was 3-4 with two doubles, Pont 2-3 with four runs batted in, Kimbler 2-3 and Blizzard 1-1 with an RBI.
Green (6-1, 2-0) went up 3-0 in the first inning.
Kimbler singled, Carver error and Ponn singled for a run. Levi Singleton walked, Mason Barber singled in a run and Ponn scored on a wild pitch.
Green got three more runs in the second.
Eli Webb singled, Kimbler walked and Carver had an RBI double and Ponn got a two-run single.
Three more runs scored in the fourth to make it 9-0.
Webb and Kimbler singled and Carver had an RBI double. Ponn reached on an error as a run scored and Barber capped the rally with a sacrifice fly.
The final two runs scored in the seventh.
Darnell and Ethan Carpenter singled and Blizzard had an RBI single. Dustin Sprouse grounded out to drive in Carpenter.
Ponn worked the first five innings for the win. Kimbler worked the final 1.2 innings and struck out four of the five batters he faced.
