EDITORIAL: A salute to our teachers
As you may have noticed in yesterday’s edition of The Tribune, we started a new feature, “Educator Spotlight.”
Each week, we will future a teacher, selected by faculty of their individual schools to let the public get to know them a little better.
We have sent invitations to all schools in Lawrence County for this piece.
Teachers do far more than simply instruct students in academic subjects.
They are tasked with fueling a desire to learn in their students and getting them to develop skills such as critical thinking and problem solving.
As many teachers in this county will tell you, they come to care about their students as if they were their own children and they offer support to families at their schools far beyond the curriculum needs.
They serve as mentors and guides for the next generation of leaders and the future of the county begins in their classrooms.
So look for this feature each Friday, as we show out gratitude for those who are creating tomorrow.
