This morning, those who are downtown in Ironton will get a chance to sample products from regional artisans when The Vault Market opens its doors for its first day of business at 211 Center St.
Founded by Abby Keuhne and Amanda Cleary, the market will serve as a collaborative space, giving creators a chance to sell their work, with the hopes of it leading to them opening a brick and mortar store of their own.
Keuhne and Cleary envision the store as a business incubator and their goal is to help build the local economy.
This is an excellent use of one downtown’s historic buildings and a unique business that could draw visitors from across the region.
With a focus on locally and regionally-made work, The Vault will allow shoppers to be more contemplative about what they are purchasing and will bring needed to support to the economy here.
It is the ultimate demonstration of the “shop local” philosophy and its owners hope it will grow, change and evolve as they bring in more collaborators.
We encourage everyone to drop by the store, which will be open Tuesday through Sunday and see what they have available.
