Tommy Martin

Sept. 25, 1944–May 12, 2019

Tommy R. Martin, 74, of Decatur, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe. Tommy was born Sept. 25, 1944, the son of the late Otis and Clara Martin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Jean Fulk.

He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Tommy served his country and was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam as a supply clerk. He was also a very proud father of his two children that also served in the U.S. Army.

Tommy is survived by his daughter, Teresa Rodriguez (Ricardo) of San Antonio, Texas; his son, Scott (Candy) Martin of Stout; and his brother, Eddie (Paula) Martin of Lexington Kentucky. Tommy also had four grandchildren, Kayla, Whitney, Anthony and Tyler. Tommy also had four great grandchildren and three nephews. Tommy is also survived by some very special children that he had raised, Roberta (Chris Carter) of Barboursville, West Virginia, Rebecca (Bill Cole) of Minford and Brian (Rhonda) of Portsmouth. With these children, Tommy also had 12 grandchildren.

Tommy’s family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for the excellent care of our father.

Funeral service will be noon on Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Don Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by James Dickey Post 23-American Legion. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Harvey Lee Edmonds

Harvey Lee Edmonds, 73, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

No services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
