RUSSELL, Ky. — It’s time to register for the 42nd annual Kiwanis Run By The River.
The 5K and 10K road races are scheduled for Saturday, June 8, in downtown Russell, Ky.
The races start at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Russell fire station and are sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of East Greenup County, Ky.
The reduced-rate preregistration period ends on Saturday, June 1.
There are two ways to register: By mail by printing out a registration form from www.runbytheriver.com or on Facebook.com/runbytheriver or electronically on your cell or computer device at www.runbytheriver.com.
Fees are $20 through June 1 for all runners. After that the cost remains $20 for ages 14 and under, and $25 for ages 15 and up.
On race day registration opens at 7:00 a.m.
The online registration is a two step process. First fill out the information form and send it to the race director. Then select the correct payment amount and complete your payment.
Funds raised by the race are used for numerous youth and community projects, including scholarships for Key Club seniors, the library’s summer reading program, Shop with a Cop and food baskets at Thanksgiving.
