Joseph Patterson

Joseph Wayne Patterson, 75, of Ironton passed away Friday, May 31, 2019. The Ironton native was born Dec. 8, 1943, a son to the late Robert and Catherine (Porter) Patterson. Joseph is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna (Smith) Patterson.

Joseph was a 1961 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School. He went on to serve in the United States Army. He later worked as a rigger for AK Steel where he retired after 32 years of service. Joseph was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by a son, Brian (Stacey) Patterson of Ironton; a daughter, Tracy L. Bradshaw of Jefferson City, Tennessee; three granddaughters, Meghan (Shane) Williams of South Point, Cassie (Joe) Meyers of Ironton and Paige Brown of Coal Grove; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, George Patterson; and a sister, Linda (Patterson) Pemberton.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Jim Beals officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by VFW Post #8850.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Zoar Baptist Church, 108 Township Road 385, Coal Grove, OH 45638.
