Instructor’s work on display in library exhibit

An exhibit by a local art instructor will be on display at the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library until July 20.
Kimberly Johnson was hired as an art teacher at St. Joseph Catholic High School in Ironton in 2001, and also teaches summer enrichment art classes at Shawnee State University, Ohio University Southern and night classes at Ashland Community & Technical College.
She started teaching art in South Point in 1992 and at St. Joseph High School in 2001.
Johnson developed a love for photography when she was on the yearbook staff in high school. While at Shawnee for two years in the graphic design program, she met her future husband Leo Johnson. They married and transferred to Eastern Kentucky University. Kimberly changed her major to art education and graduated with a K-12 art teaching degree. Kimberly and Leo have two sons, Lane and Carter.
She enjoys painting in all medium and loves to teach and inspire young artists. She was a member of Ironton Artists Association and has won many ribbons at local art competitions.
