The Lawrence County Animal is reminding residents to get their dog tags.

Shelter director Denise Paulus said tags are available at the shelter.

“It’s an Ohio state law and not just Lawrence County,” she said. “If they own a dog, make sure they get the tags. The dog warden has been going around, knocking on doors.”

Paulus said tags are also available at Lawrence County Auditor Jason Stephens’ office and through his website, at Pine Tree Carryout in Pedro and at Jim’s Bait and Tackle in Proctorville.
