Ermal Marcum
Aug. 12, 1941 – June 28, 2019
Ermal Marcum, 77, of Coal Grove, passed away at his residence, Friday, June 28, 2019. Mr. Marcum was born in Mingo County, West Virginia, on Aug. 12, 1941, a son to the late Fred and Alice (Rose) Marcum. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Lois Browning Marcum, whom he married March 6, 1959.
Mr. Marcum attended Dawson-Bryant High School and was a retired lift operator for Dayton Malleable, retiring in 1994, after 28 years of service. Mr. Marcum was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord, his family and shooting his guns. His generosity to his family and friends had no limits. He leaves behind beautiful memories that he loved to share with his family, stories that will live forever.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Marcum.
He is survived by two daughters, Alice (Blaine) Woodburn and Angela (Gregory) Bocook, both of Coal Grove; a son, Ermal David (Michelle) Marcum of Coal Grove; seven grandchildren, Kelli (Eric) Christian of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Amanda (John) Craven of Nashville, Tennessee, Ariel Bocook of Columbus, Jonathan Lyons of Coal Grove, Davin Marcum of Columbus, Lakin Marcum of Columbus, and Ragin Marcum of Coal Grove; three great-grandchildren, Breaker, Harper and Ryder Christian all of Harrisburg, North Carolina.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, with Rev. Danny Pancake officiating, burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be noon Monday until time of the service at the funeral home.

James W. Willis, 67, of Chesapeake, died Monday, June 24, 2019.
A private family service will be held. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake is assisting the family with arrangements.
