Beatrice Gannon

Aug. 9, 1927 – July 2, 2019

Beatrice Theresa Gannon, 91, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at St. Mary Medical Center Ironton Campus. Mrs. Gannon was born in Lawrence County on Aug. 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Werne) Dobson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Gannon, in 2003.

Mrs. Gannon was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a beautician and homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Women Club.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Glenn Edward “Butch” Kearns; two grandsons, Glenn Edward “Eddie” Kearns, II and David “Scott” Gannon; and a sister, Irene Dobson.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Kathie) Gannon of Monroe and Ralph “David” (Mary Lou) Gannon of Delaware; three daughters, Barbara Gannon of Dublin, Teresa Gannon of Powell and Sharon Gannon of Ironton; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 905 S. Fifth St., Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until time of the service at the church.

Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Laura Ann Carey, 49, of South Point, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point. She is survived by her husband, Clinton Carey.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ottie Lee Henson, 75, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Linda Henson.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Abundant Life Baptist Church, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jimmie Ray Snyder, Sr., 83, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at home.
