Ferguson, Morris take top two spots in competition
ROME TOWNSHIP — Two members of Starlite 4-H Club took the top spots in the Market Steer Show on Wednesday.
The event, organized by Lawrence County 4-H and FFA, took place in the main barn at the Lawrence County fair.
Winning grand champion was Marley Ferguson, while Chad Morris was reserve champion.
Ferguson, 10, of Kitts Hill, was last year’s junior showman in the competition. Morris, a veteran 4-H member, is a 2019 Symmes Valley High graduate.
In this year’s showmanship competition, based on the members’ ability to present the animal, Brandon Blair was named senior showman, while Kynslie Moore was junior showman.
