Interception returns key Bucs rout of Saints, 48-0

The River City Buccaneers return two of three interceptions for touchdowns as were all smiles as they rolled past the Ohio Valley Saints 48-0 on Saturday to clinch a playoff spot.
Cedric Legette and Job Swords each had a Pick 6 while Lenny Jackson came up with the other interception.
Luke Brown ran 18 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns while Swords was 5-of-10 passing for 110 yards and two interceptions. He ran for 26 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Fred Crozier had one reception for 38 yards and ran eight times for 92 yards.
Chase Devore caught two passes for 18 yards, Jermaine Payton had one catch for 28 and Elijah Adams added one catch for 15 yards.
In a game sponsored by the Ironton Rotary Club, River City finished its home schedule with a win and is now 5-2. Ohio Valley fell to 3-4.
Swords ran 3 yards with 9:38 left in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead.
Brown’s 10-yard scoring run and Swords conversion pass to Crozier made it 14-0 with 5:37 left in the half.
Swords returned an interception 50 yards with just under two minutes left in the first half and it was 20-0.
Brown then rambled 22 yards for a touchdown and Swords hit Payton on the conversion and it was 28-0 with 41 seconds left in the half.
Crozier had a 22-yard touchdown run and Swords scooted 23 yards for a score as the lead ballooned to 42-0 in the third quarter. Zach Christensen kicked a pair of extra points.
Legette’s 30-yard interception return in the fourth quarter ended the scoring as the second half was played with a running clock.
