Keurig Dr. Pepper hosts grand reopening

SOUTH POINT — “Now it’s officially open,” Shirley Dyer, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce director Shirley Dyer said.

Officials had just cut the ribbon on the grand reopening of the Keurig Dr. Pepper facility at The Point industrial park.

The 32,500-square foot facility, located on Commerce Drive, will distribute  to more than 30 counties in the Tri-State.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be in this new facility,” Phillip Weber, branch manager for Keurig Dr. Pepper, said.

“We’d like to welcome you to the grand reopening of our new distribution center.”

Jeremy Clay, associate executive director for the Chamber said they had worked hard to keep things on schedule for Tuesday’s opening.

“This is a great honor for our county to have this opportunity,” he said.

He also pointed out that the facility is equipped with a fleet shop.

Branch manager Phillip Weber said the companies merged last year and that the facility offers more space and has more docks to move product to market and “get beverages into the hands of consumers.”

South Point Mayor Jeff Gaskin thanked the company for continuing to choose to operate in Lawrence County and South Point.

“We’ve gone far, but how much further can we go?” the mayor said.

While Lawrence County Commissioner Deanna Holliday spoke of the community’s relationship with the company.

“You can depend on Lawrence County’s leadership and the residents are good, trustworthy partners and good employees,” she said.
