Rose Ann Lutz Walker

Feb. 12, 1928 —July 30, 2019

Rose Ann Lutz Walker, 91, died on July 30, 2019, in Columbus.

A native of Ironton and graduate of Hanging Rock High School, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Emmett E. Walker; sons, Mark Joseph and Shawn Michael Walker; son-in-law, Loren (Skip) Hipsley; siblings, Mary Lutz Halligan, John Lutz, Killian Lutz and Vincent Lutz; and parents, Anna Clare McGowan and Killian Ambrose Lutz.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Robert) Shea, Susan, Jennifer Hipsley, Anne and Janet; daughter-in-law Sarah Albers Walker; sons, James, David (Noelene), Terry (Jeannie) and Rob Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer and Katherine Shea, Sara (Chad) Beldon, Emily (Lonnie) Ferguson, Sean Killian Walker, Joseph Rudmann, Michael Niles, Erin, Ryan, Colleen and Shannon Walker, Rachel (Neil) Harries, Alexandra and Quinn Walker, Nicholas, Molly and Samuel Walker, Scott Wells, Rose T. Walker; great-grandchildren, Grace and Laney Beldon, Logan Taylor, Tyler Ferguson, Roman Argersinger and Raiyner Wells; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church. Officiants will be her nephew, Fr. Kevin Lutz, and Fr. David Huffman. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Pine Grove Catholic Cemetery.

Donald DePriest Sr.

Feb. 22, 1949 — July 29, 2019

Donald Eugene DePriest, Sr., 70, of Ironton, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

The Ironton native was born Feb. 22, 1949 to the late Pearl Depriest, Mary (House) Depriest and stepmother, Wilda DePriest.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann (Shafer) DePriest.

Donald graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended Ohio University Southern. He worked for Rollyson Aluminum Windows in South Point and Lowe’s in Ashland, Kentucky. Don was an avid Ironton sports fan and enjoyed coaching his sons in basketball and baseball, Little League and Junior League Baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Telly DePriest.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donald Eugene DePriest (Junie), of Ironton, and Jason Michael DePriest, of Ironton; a daughter, Ann Marie DePriest, of Ironton; a brother, Ronald (Janet) DePriest, of Ironton; two sisters, Phyllis Ann DePriest, of Kipling, North Carolina, and Sandra (Bob) Mosby, of Bradenton, Florida; and four grandchildren, Hannah (Johnny) Reynolds of  Upper Arlington, Bryce DePriest, of South Point, Quinn DePriest, of Ironton, and Lacy DePriest, of Ironton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St., Ironton, with Pastor Steve Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain St., Ironton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. There will also be a visitation 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

Billy Arbaugh

April 5, 1961 — July 27, 2019

Billy Arbaugh, 58, of Jackson, formerly of Waterloo, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson.

Billy was born April 5, 1961, in Ironton, a son of the late William and Virginia (Crawford) Arbaugh. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debra “Debbie” (Saunders) Arbaugh, whom he married March 24, 1987.

Mr. Arbaugh was a 1979 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and attended Cincinnati State for engineering.

He retired in 2015 from CSX as an engineer. Billy loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, building bird houses and bluegrass music. He also loved his friends, especially his CSX family/friends.

He was a member of Crossroads Pentecostal Church in Patriot. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Arbaugh; and a sister, Linda Meadows.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Cathy Christy; three grandchildren, Heather (Brent) Evert, Rachael (Gary) Furniss and Michael (Leslie) Harris; a sister, Paula (Jeff) Miller; a brother, David (Pat) Arbaugh; 10 great-grandchildren; and his beloved pets, Otis and Annie.

Also, a special mention to his aunt, Judy Wilson; special friend, Danny Lovenguth; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at WOW Church, Waterloo, with Pastor Doug Miller officiating. Visitation will be noon until time of the service at the church on Saturday.

Edward Lewis

Edward (Sonny) Lewis, 79 of Ironton, died July 24, 2019 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center in Portsmouth.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lewis.

Private graveside services will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery on Saturday with Pastor Leon Dalton. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.

Judith Ann Damron, 76, of Coal Grove, died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

No services will be held.

Ted Franklin Conley Sr., 84, of Coal Grove, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Memorial Service will be noon on Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Chaplain Jim Smedley officiating.  Military graveside rites will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
