Alonzo Beair

Dec. 17, 1935 — Aug. 15, 2019

Alonzo “Al” Beair, 83 of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday Aug. 15, 2019.

The Olive Hill, Kentucky native was born Dec 17, 1935, a son of the late Lewis Beair and the late Dessie Barker Phillips. He was formerly with the Ironton Coke Plant with 14 years of service, a United States Army veteran and member of Decatur Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Phillips; and three sisters, Hazel Haskins, Bernice Gillispie and Freda Phillips.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rosemary Beair; a son, Ray (Cathy Stamper) Beair; a grandson, Jason Beair, of Pedro; and a host of family and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Macedonia Cemetery with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating.

Memorial donations should be made to the church.

His wife has entrusted his care to the Taylor-Brown family of Brown Funeral Chapel.

John Farris

John Farris, 70, of Ironton, formerly of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, West Virginia. Inurnment will follow. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Wanda Neal

Wanda Neal, 82, of South Point, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at a local nursing home facility.

Graveside service will be Tuesday at Slab Fork Cemetery, 7224 County Road 4, Pedro.  There will be no public visitation and Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
