On Saturday, the Wyngate at RiversEdge celebrated five years since its opening.
The facility, located in Rome Township provides a community for the region’s seniors, offering both independent apartments and an assisted living option.
As its residents have told The Tribune in the years we have covered it, the Wyngate provides exemplary care and offers a steady selection of options, under the leadership of activities director Julie Poff, ranging from Bible study, to music and card games, to keep seniors engaged.
And more importantly, the facility hosts events, free and open to the public each month, inviting the surrounding community to come in and meet with the seniors and staff.
These events can take the form of holiday events, such as Breakfast with Santa, a chili cookoff, or its annual Veterans Day observation, which pays tribute to its residents who served.
As many residents have told us, they have enjoyed their stay at the Wyngate so much, they have had spouses and siblings join them in living there.
For a lot of families, it can be daunting to find a place for loved ones to reside when they reach an advanced age. As the experiences residents have related show, the Wyngate has provided an environment that meets and exceeds resident needs.
We congratulate the Wyngate for reaching this anniversary. They have proven to be a valuable member of the Lawrence County community and we wish them many more successful years.
