SOUTH POINT — The annual Special Needs Youth Sportsmen fishing event is set for Saturday, Sept. 7.
The event treats those with disabilities to a free day of fishing in the South Point area.
According to Mike Finley, vice president with the group, there is no need to pre-register and those interested in attending can show up at South Point Tractor Supply at 8 a.m.
From there, they will follow a caravan to the nearby fishing site. There is no cost for attending and fishing equipment is provided. “And we provide them all with breakfast and lunch,” Finley said.
This year’s event is sponsored by Riverside Recovery Services.
SNYS is a faith-based public charity, which organizes events throughout the year, including fishing and nature outings, archery shoots, target shoots and deer hunting.
