Nellie McClellan

Jan. 10, 1950 – Aug. 31, 2019

Nellie Marie “Cookie” McClellan, 69, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Mrs. McClellan was born Jan. 10, 1950, a daughter of the late James Bundy and Hazel Marie (Stewart) Bundy.

Ms. McClellan attended Ironton High School and was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of the Ironton Moose and loved gardening. She was baptized in 2005 at Sharon Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herbie and Larry Delawder.

Family will have a private service at a later date.

Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Thelma Huff

Thelma Louise Huff, 84, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at Harbor Health Care Center in Ironton. She was born in Ironton, a daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Walters) Hardy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Huff, Sr., in 1994.

Mrs. Huff was a 1953 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School. She was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved flowers and cooking. She was a longtime member of New Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and John Patterson; a brother, James Hardy; a sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Ralph Koster.

She is survived by two sons, Brian (Tiffany) Huff and Billy (Karen) Huff; one sister, Erma (Tim) Sark; one sister-in-law, Rose Hardy and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that were dear to her heart.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Memorial Gardens with Pastor Larry Comer officiating.

Keith Roth

April 5, 1954 – Sept. 2, 2019

Keith “Beef” Roth, 65, of Kitts Hill, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1954, the son of the late Austin and Dovie Cox Roth. He is survived by his long-time companion, Betty Barnett.

Beef was a graduate of Rock Hill Schools, where he also retired from as a bus driver. He was a member of the Rock Hill Board of Education, Rock Hill Athletics and the Band Boosters. He was currently serving as a bus driver for South Point Schools, he enjoyed supporting his students from both Rock Hill and South Point schools. Keith also was the senior campground host for Vesuvius Campground, Wayne National Forest, he loved camping and meeting people. He was an Ohio State and Marshall football fan. Beef was a jokester and loved “getting one over on someone,” whenever he could. He brought laughter and joy to everyone he met and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a brother, Allan Roth of Florida; a sister, Phyllis Schmauch of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton, with Pastor Denny Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arbutus Reed

Arbutus Reed, 90, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2019.

Funeral services will be conducted by Bishop E.S. Harper and Bob Rose at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville.

Michael Webb

Sept. 20, 1953 – Aug. 31, 2019

Michael Ray Webb, 65, of Pedro, graduate of South Point High School, class of 1972, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, Kentucky.

Michael was born Sept. 20, 1953 in Ironton, a son of the late Earl J. and Helen Louise Pennington Webb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry James Webb.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Michael is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jennifer Leighty Webb; four children, Chrissty Jo Adkins, Jamie Michael Webb, Michael Travis Webb and Kodee Tyrell Webb; one brother, Retired Lt. Col. Earl Fredrick Webb; six grandchildren, Corey, Brooke, Nathen, Lily, Bailey and Jeremiah; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Haiven; special niece, Nancy Louise Webb; and special nephew, Retired Chaplain Major Ronald Fredrick Webb.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Ronald Fredrick Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may visit from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Ann Frost, 36, of Bidwell, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.

C. Ray Day, 79, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Donna Day.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville with Father Charles Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery, Crown City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Brad Townsend

Brad Franklin “Slugger” Townsend, 36, of Proctorville, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Fischer Townsend.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with The Christian Riders Club conducting the service. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. before the service.
