PEDRO — Remember Jerry Reed telling Burt Reynolds in the movie “Smokey and the Bandit” that “when we say we’re going to do a job, don’t we do a job?”
The Coal Grove Lady Hornets did their job on Tuesday as they beat the injury-riddled Rock Hill Redwomen in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game, 25-22, 25-6 an 25-9.
“I told each player you have a job on the floor, now get out and do your job or be replaced,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Trish Damron.
“Well, they got the job done.”
Kaleigh Murphy had another good night of serving with 18 points with six aces and five kills while Halley Booth had 11 points and five aces.
Mikayla Daniels added eight points. Rylee Harmon and Addi Dillow had 13 kills each.
Coal Grove visits Chesapeake at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in a league game.
