The St. Joseph Lady Flyers mixed things up as far as positions, but they didn’t get mixed up on how to win.
The Lady Flyers Dirty Dozen showed its versatility on Monday with an 11-0 Southern Ohio Conference soccer win over the Portsmouth West Lady Senators.
“These girls do whatever we ask of them and play anywhere on the field and get the job done,” said Lady Flyers’ coach Dan Blair.
“It was an entire team effort as the assists handed out shows. Chloe Sheridan usually plays defense had a great game on offense. Also, Emilee Blankenship played on the offensive side for the game and came away with her first goal of the season and two assists.”
St. Joseph controlled the first half and got off 30 shots compared to only one for West.
Emma Whaley had four goals, Chloe Sheridan scored twice while Laiken Unger, Gracie Damron, Kaitlyn Sheridan, Bella Whaley and Emilee Blankenship all had goals.
Besides Blankenship’s two assists, Kaitlyn Sheridan and Sami Anderson each had an assist.
St. Joseph will host Northwest on Wednesday in a league game.
