Terry Lowe

June 27, 1950 – Sept. 11, 2019

Terry Randell Lowe, 69, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Terry was born June 27, 1950 and was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Eakins; father, Larry Kendall Lowe; and brother, Larry R. Lowe, of Ironton.

He leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter, Sophia Marie Taryn Lowe (Baby Cakes); nieces, nephews, cousins and several friends he considered family.

Terry was a drummer in several bands throughout his life, but probably best know is Blue Max.

He was a dedicated and loving father to his Baby Cakes.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday at the Ro-Na Theater in Ironton. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 2 – 6 p.m. Come share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLBH Foundation or any cause close to your heart.

Jack Wade

Feb. 4, 1931 – Sept. 22, 2019

Jack “Buck” Wade, 88, of Ravenswood, West Virginia, passed away on Sept. 22, 2019, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 4, 1931, in Ironton, a son of the late William and Martha Quinn Wade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann; and five brothers, William, Elwood, Stanley, Gerald and Richard.

Jack retired as a pipe fitter at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He loved gardening, woodworking and feeding the birds. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Before going into the Navy, he worked for the C & O Railroad.

He is survived by his sister, Virginia Aldridge; children, Keith Wade, Brian Wade (Kelli); Barry Wade (Faith) and DeeAnn Knapp (Keith); grandchildren, Matthew Wade, Amber Sims (Jacob), Kristen Wade, Christopher McConaha (Candace), Logan Wade and Hannah Wade; and four great grandchildren, Colten DeMoss, Alli Sims, Hayden Sims and Kinsley Sims.

He had a special place in his heart for Augjai Smith, Gwen Gerwig and Debbie Coulter.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, West Virginia, with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with full graveside military rites provided by Jackson County Honor Guard.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. –1 p.m., the time of service.

James Short

Feb. 14, 1950 – Sept. 23, 2019

James (Jim) E. Short, 69, of Ironton, passed away at the Hospice Care House in Ashland, Kentucky on Sept. 23, 2019. He was born Feb. 14, 1950 to the late Delbert and Hazel Short. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann (Meeks) Short and first wife Sheila (Simpson) Short.

Jim drove bus for Lawrence County MRDD and Symmes Valley Schools. He worked for W. W. Mays Vault Company for many years. He was a member of the Aid Township Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He loved to hunt.

Jim was survived by brother, Clarence (Debbie) Short, of Aid; sister, Bertha (Rick) Bundy, of Aid; son, Thomas (Mary) Slaughter of Ashland, Kentucky; daughters, Sherry Short, of Huntington, West Virginia and Amanda (Mike Barber) Slaughter of Ironton; grandchildren, William Slaughter, Haley, Michael and Hunter Barber; mother-in-law, Linda Meeks; sister-in-law, Paula (James) Dozier of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Rob Hale officiating and burial will follow at Langdon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Thursday.

Timothy Jenkins

Timothy Keith Jenkins, 63, of South Point, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 at his residence.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m., Wednesday at Hanging Rock Cemetery.

David Johnson

David C. Johnson, 56, of Valdosta, Georgia, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Sherry.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Swan Creek Cemetery, 19728 State Route 7 South, Crown City.

Kendra Crockett

Kendra Day Crockett, 60, of Huntington, West Virginia, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. George Roland Crockett II DDS.

Leonard Clark

Leonard W. “Red” Clark, 91, of Proctorville, died Monday Sept. 23, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be held 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Geraldine Smith

Geraldine Mae Smith, 90, of South Point, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at Harbor Healthcare of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Bill Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
