Howard Moreland Jr.

May 8, 1930 – Sept. 24, 2019

Howard William Moreland Jr., 89, of North College Hill, passed away on Sept. 24, 2019.

Howard was born in Ironton to Howard Sr, and Jessie Moreland.

Howard was married to Alma Faye Moreland for 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Hannah Dunlap; and a brother, Emerson Moreland.
Howard is survived by wife, Alma Faye Moreland; children, Eddie Moreland, Alice (Paul) Stone, Esther (Mark) Dunlap and Paul (Heide) Moreland; eight grandchildren; sister, Norma Wileman; and his pet and wonderful companion, Molly.

Howard will be loved and cherished by a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton-Oxford Road, Hamilton, Ohio.

Jewell Hudgins

Oct. 30, 1925 – Sept. 24, 2019

Jewell (Judy) Greenhill Hudgins, 93, of Grayson, Kentucky, through the comfort and guidance of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, left this world on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center following an extended illness.

She was born in Carter County, Kentucky, on Oct. 30, 1925, to the late Pete Sr. and Maud Sammons Greenhill. In addition to her parents, she will be reunited with her brothers, Jay L., Frank, Roy, Thurman, Glen and Carl Greenhill; and by sisters, Aileen Greenhill, Olive Greenhill Russell, Ruby Greenhill Stewart and Vivian Greenhill Tackett; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jewell lived a very full life. She worked as a timekeeper for 33 years in Ironton at the Dayton Malleable plant. After retirement, she filled her life with family and friends and enjoyed traveling, always finding time for a shopping spree for clothing and accessories.

She is survived by a brother, Pete Greenhill Jr.; her niece who cared for her the last 10 years of her life, Sondra McGlone; and her nursing assistant of two years, Barbara Hall. She also has many beloved nieces and nephews, including great- and great-great ones whom all adored her.

Funeral services will be held at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday and will be officiated by chaplain Jimm Smedley. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 6–8 p.m. at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel.

Showing their last loving gesture for Jewell, the pallbearers will be her nephews and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make contributions in her memory to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY, 41101.

Kendra Crockett

Kendra Day Crockett, 60, of Huntington, West Virginia, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. George Roland Crockett II, of Huntington, West Virginia.

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

David Cooper

David Lee Cooper, 76, of Scottown, died Wednesday Sept. 25, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Hannah.

No services will be held. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with arrangements.
