Lady Hornets go 1-2 during tough week

COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets had to battle all week.
The Lady Hornets played three tough volleyball games as they beat the Green Lady Bobcats in four sets and then lost to Fairland in three sets and South Point in five.
The Lady Hornets beat Green 27-25, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-17 on Monday in a non-league game.
Addi Dillow pounded out 23 kills to go with four solo blocks and nine digs.
Rylee Harmon had 13 kills, three solo blocks and 14 points including five ace serves.
Kaleigh Murphy got six kills, seven digs and 18 points with four ace serves.
The Lady Hornets faced Ohio Valley Conference foe Fairland on Tuesday and the Lady Dragons won in four tough sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-27 and 25-19.
Dillow racked up 20 kills and 16 digs, Caitlyn Dillon had 12 assists and 13 points, Murphy six kills, 13 digs and 13 points with four aces, and Harmon 16 kills and 10 points.
Thursday was another OVC game as the Lady Hornets dropped the first two sets, rallied to tie the game but lost in the tiebreaker.
South Point won 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25 and 15-12.
Dillow once again was strong at the net with 21 kills plus 17 digs. Harmon got 12 kills, nine digs and 18 points with three aces while Murphy finished with six kills, 15 digs and nine points including three aces.
