CIRCLEVILLE — Maybe the third time will be a charm for Fairland Lady Dragons’ senior golf standout Hanna Shrout.
She found a little of that luck already at the Division II District Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Pickaway Country club.
The only state qualifiers at the district are the first-place team and the lowest score by a golfer not on the winning team.
Shrout fired a 34-40 for a 74 total and finished second behind Westfall sophomore Maddi Shoults who was the medalist as she finished with a 34-37=71 score.
However, Shrout will make a third straight trip to the state tournament as the top individual score not on the winning team since Westfall won the district title.
Shrout — who was 23rd as a sophomore and tied for 8th last year — will play on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12, on the Ohio State University Gray Course.
Westfall won the tournament with a 356 score while the South Point Lady Pointers were second with a team score of 383.
Junior Abbi Zornes shot a 43-43=86 to lead the Lady Pointers.
Emilee Carey had a 46-50=96, Hannah Hall 46-53=99 and Lucy Gannon 53-49=102.
Chesapeake Lady Panthers’ senior Alaina Collins carded a 45-51=96 and Coal Grove Lady Hornets’ sophomore Emily Horn shot a 52-66=118.
Sheridan was third with a team score of 392 followed by Gallipolis at 409, Meigs 410 and Crooksville 414.
