SOUTH POINT — South Point will fill a vacancy on the council, caused by the death of member Bill Patrick, at their meeting in November.
Mayor Jeff Gaskin said, according to wishes of the council and consulting with members, he will name a replacement to the seat at the meeting, set for Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The seat has been vacant since Patrick, who was in his first term, died Aug. 13 at age 69 following an illness.
Patrick, who was elected in 2017, had three years left on his term, which ends January 2022. The replacement will serve those years and be eligible to run again in 2021.
