Fayette Township Clean Up

The Fayette Township Clean Up will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Volunteers for roadside pickup are welcome. No batteries, paint, oil, refrigerators, freezers, household garbage, hazardous waste or tires.

Octoberfest

The village of Chesapeake will host its annual Octoberfest, organized by the Chesapeake Area Citizens Coalition at Triangle Park.

Windsor Township Trustees Meeting

The Windsor Township Trustees will meet at town hall at 7 a.m.

Windsor Township Clean-Up

Windsor Township Clean-Up Day will be from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at town hall for residents of the township. Limit of ten tires per household.

Food Sale

Lick Creek Independent Baptist Church will have a pulled pork and hot dog sale from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the South Point FoodFair. There will be homemade fudge and cookies.

Spooktacular Community Day

The Upper Township Fire Department will have a Spooktacular Community Day from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The free event will include fire prevention demos, inflatables, popcorn and drinks. There will be Trunk or Treat from 2 – 4 p.m. The station is located at 3402 State Route 141, Ironton.

Fairland BOE

The Fairland Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. at the high school, located at 812 County Road 411, Proctorville.

IHS Class of 1957 Lunch

Ironton High School class of 1957 will meet at noon at Frisch’s Big Boy for lunch. All classmates and guest are invited.

Tuesday

Ag Society Meeting

The Lawrence County Agricultural Society will have its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.

Wednesday

Fall Festival

There will be a fall festival from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Sherman Thompson Towers in Ironton. There will be games, food, door prizes, a cake walk, Spin the Wheel and a Jail at Bail. To set up a table or donate, contact property manager Margie Collins at 740-532-0694.

Thursday

Planning Commission Meeting

The Lawrence County Regional Planning Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting at 11 a.m. at the Giovanni’s in Chesapeake.

Insurance COG Meeting

The Lawrence County Insurance COG will meet at 9 a.m. at the ESC office located at 304 N. 2nd St., Ironton.

Oct. 18

Squire Parsons Benefit Sing

Several gospel singers will perform at a benefit sing for Squire Parsons at 7 p.m. at the Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, Avenue and 3rd Street West in Huntington, West Virginia. Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken for Parsons.

Oct. 19

SPYS Pheasant Hunt

Special Needs Youth Sportsmen will host a field day and pheasant hunt at Collins Career Technical Center farm. Those interested in taking part can meet at the farm at 2 p.m. There is no cost for the event.

Land Bank Meeting

The Lawrence County Land Bank will meet at noon at its office located 327 Vernon St., Ironton.

Levy Committee

The Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities Levy Committee will meet at 5:15 p.m. until approximately 6:15 p.m. at its levy headquarters located at 315 S. Third St., Ironton. Meetings are open to the public. For anyone who would like to attend or join a subcommittee to help support the levy, visit the headquarters during the meeting time.

Retired Teachers Meeting

The Lawrence County Retired Teachers will meet at noon at Frisch’s Big Boy in Ironton. Speaker will be Meshawna Hamilton from Ohio University Southern. There’s will be a report on the annual fifth-grade writing contest. For more information call, 740-377-9390.
