MINFORD — The Minford Lady Falcons are moving on in the sectional tournament, but it wasn’t easy.
The Lady Falcons were held scoreless until the second half as they edged the South Point Lady Pointers 2-0 on Monday in a Division III soccer tournament game.
Haley Knore scored with an assist from Amy Shoemaker in the second half to snap the scoreless tie.
Hannah Tolle then got an unassisted goal on a kick from 30 yards out over the goalkeeper’s head late in the game.
Minford (8-8) plays at Lynchburg Clay on Thursday and host St. Joseph in a regular season game on Tuesday.
