Flyers’ SOC soccer champs; Clay forfeits league title

A week ago, the St. Joseph Flyers were second in their first Southern Ohio Conference boys’ soccer league race.
A week later, they are league champions.
After the completion of regular season, Clay administration discovered that they may have used an ineligible player.
The administration quickly acted upon the error and reported it tot he Ohio High School Athletic Association and the SOC.
The result was a forfeiture of several contests in which the ineligible player participated including two league games, one against St. Joseph in which Clay won.
With the forfeits, the Flyers finished first at 4-2 and Clay second at 3-2-1.
Clay was also forced to forfeit several non-league games as well.
