A familiar face will be the speaker at the annual Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce recognition dinner on Tuesday.

It will be Bob Walters, who helped start Liebert plant in Ironton and was its plant manager for five years. He joined Emerson-Liebert and spent three years in Japan. When Liebert was acquired by Vertiv, he was put in charge of Vertiv’s American operations.

“We are very privileged to get him to come back and be our speaker,” said Dr. Bill Dingus, executive director of the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation.

The annual event honors a Lawrence County business as the business of the year, the entrepreneur of the year and the community service award.

Jerry Rowe will be recognized for the 2019 Business of the Year with the Armory Smokehouse and Frisch’s Big Boy restaurants in Ironton.

The reception starts at 6 p.m. and the dinner at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Ohio University Southern campus in Ironton.
