The Ironton Lions Club will host a Diabetes Awareness Day event on Friday at the Ironton City Center.

Free screenings will be offered as part of the activities, which will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the main lobby.

Several organizations will be set up and taking part in the event, including St. Mary’s Medical Center’s Ironton campus, LCEMA, Area Agency on Aging — District 7, Collins Career technical Center nursing school, Basedow Family Clinic. Community Home Health Agency, Lawrence County EMS, Lawrence County Emergence Management Agency and Unger’s Shoes.
