Rita Triplett

Jan. 24, 1936– Nov. 23, 2019

Rita Gail (Browning) Triplett, 83, of Ironton, and believed to be the sweetest lady in Lawrence County, gave up her spirit and left her loving family to meet her Creator through Jesus Christ by the gift of faith on Nov. 23, 2019.

Rita (Mom) was born Jan. 24, 1936, with physical beginnings that were very challenging with wonders of her survival. But God had other plans that defied man’s thoughts.

Rita graduated from Ironton High School in 1955 and attended business school for two years.

Mrs. Triplett was preceded in death by her parents, the late Charles Browning and Clementine McGee Dickess; and a stepfather, Homer Dickess. Also, her husband of 42 years, George W. Triplett, Sr.; and two brothers, Eugene (Dottie) Browning and Jack (Odette) Browning.

She is survived by her son, George W.(Jennifer) Triplett Jr.; her daughter, Rose M (Rick) Frazer; and four grandchildren, Seth Frazer, Hannah (Frazer) Pauley, Luke Triplett, and Faith Triplett.

Rita (Mom) spent her life emulating service to her family without ever complaining. She became a Christian at the age of 19 and was a member of Central Christian Church of Ironton.

Funeral service will be noon, Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Brother Rick Frazer officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain St., Ironton. Visitation will be 6–8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mason Maynard

Mason Lindsey Maynard, 101, resident of at Wyngate at the Rivers Edge Proctorville, died on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.

A graveside service for family will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crown City Cemetery, Crown City, with Wilbur Van Matre officiating. There will be no visitation.

Donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Mary Avery

Mary Avery, 70, of Proctorville, died in her home on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019.

It was her wish to graciously donate her body for medical research.

Per her request, no services will be held.

Wetzel Bias Jr.,

Wetzel Paul Bias Jr., 73, of Proctorville, died on Nov. 24, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Williams Bias.

Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake, with Rev. John Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Proctorville V.F.W. Post 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri-State Bible College, South Point.
