Support small business

Saturday is Small Business Saturday, a yearly event to encourage people to buy from the small businesses in their local communities.

And Ironton aLive has for years tied Small Business Saturday with the beginning of the Christmas season by bringing in Santa and Mrs. Claus plus there will be a chance to have a s’more with the Boy Scouts, hear some Christmas tunes played by a DJ on Rotary Fountain Square and decorate some cookies with Ironton in Bloom at the Transit Center.

As part of Small Business Saturday, Ironton aLive has arranged to use the newly-remodeled Kresge building as a site for a pop-up shop to showcase the items made by local artists and others who create goods but may not have the time or funds to run their own stores.

It is important to remember our local stores. They are the ones who help support local events like the Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade, Wizardfest and so much more. By supporting them, they help support our community.

So, take a break from the mall and see what Lawrence County-based stores have to offer you.
