Ohio routs Rio Grande; Herd falls

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Marvin Price came off the bench to score 14 points to lift Ohio to a 90-51 win over Rio Grande on Wednesday night.
Ben Vander Plas had 14 points for Ohio (6-3). Sylvester Ogbonda added 14 points and eight rebounds and Mason McMurray had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats.
Ohio’s Jordan Dartis, the team’s third-leading scorer at 12.9 ppg, injured a knee in the first half and played only four minutes.
There was no immediate announcement regarding his status.
Gunner Short had 17 points for the RedStorm, a NAIA program in Ohio.
Ohio plays Tennessee Tech at home on Sunday. Rio Grande visits Ohio Christian at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Akron 85, Marshall 73
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Loren Cristian Jackson scored 28 points and Xeyrius Williams added a career-high 25 points and Akron beat Marshall 85-73 on Wednesday night.
Camron Reece had 13 points for Akron (6-2), which pulled ahead early and led by as many as 19.
Jarrod West had 17 points for the Thundering Herd (2-5). Taevion Kinsey added 15 points and Iran Bennett had 13 points.
Akron plays Southern at home on Sunday. Marshall matches up against Toledo on the road on Sunday.
