For those who love breakfast and Santa Claus, the Friends of Ironton have you covered with their annual Breakfast with Santa at the Ro-Na Theater in Ironton on Dec. 14.

Suzi Hamlin, a member of the Friends of Ironton, said the breakfast with Santa has been going on for over half a decade and is very popular event with the kids.

“They like coming to see Santa, but they also like the crafts that are available and they love the breakfast with the pancakes,” she said. “They have a really good time and they love sitting in the train and meeting all the Disney characters.”

Every year, the Friends of Ironton have students dress up as Disney princesses.

Hamlin said they hope to expand on that.

“We’re hoping to get some Ironton High School football players, band members, cheerleaders and all those folks to come down and help us celebrate,” she said. “And we are going to have several members of the River City Buccaneers. So, we are really going to have a whole bunch of people there to greet everybody. It is going to be as much for the grownups as it is the kids this year. We’re looking to have a really good time,” Hamlin said.

Breakfast starts at 9 a.m.–noon and the cost is $6 per person. The meal includes pancakes, sausage, juice, milk or coffee.

“It is an all you can eat type thing,” Hamlin said.

And since there will be a Christmas market in Ironton on that Saturday, the Friends of Ironton will have a lunch from 12:30 – 3 p.m.

“We’re going to have sloppy joes, chips and a drink for $6,” Hamlin said.

All the proceeds from the event go towards the renovation of the theater.

The Ro-Na Theater is located at 310 S. Third St. in downtown Ironton.
