The Ironton Elks Lodge and Santa Claus paid a visit to Rock Hill Elementary, where they continued a tradition of giving that dates back more than three decades.

The Christmas party was hosted for students with multi-category disabilities and featured a visit from the jolly old elf, as well as gifts and a pizza party.

Fred Jones, secretary for the Ironton Elks Lodge, said a total of 44 children took part in Friday’s event, along with their teachers.

“We enjoy it and look forward to it all year,” Jones said. “And I know the kids do, too.”

After the pizza was served, all of the children got some exercise by playing basketball in the school’s gym.

Jones said the Elks gets grants to help fund the event.

The members also thanked Coal Grove Giovanni’s who donated the pizza for the event.

“They do it every year,” Jones said.
