WILLOW WOOD — The question for the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings was how do we stop Kasey Kimbler?
They still don’t have the answer.
Kimbler scored 29 points to lead the Green Lady Bobcats to a 53-43 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Lady Vikings on Thursday.
“We didn’t’ have an answer for Kimbler. She had a great game. Every time we cut into the lead, she hit a shot,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Shannon Pierce.
Anna Knapp added 13 points including three 3-pointers for Green (6-1, 4-1).
Rachael Hayes led Symmes Valley (3-5, 2-4) with 14 points. Jenna Malone, Taylor Sells and Hailee Littlejohn had 7 rebounds each.
Malone had 6 assists, Sells blocked 7 shots and Kylee Thompson got 3 steals.
Green was up 11-8 after the first quarter as Kimbler hit a 3-pointer and connected on 4-of-6 form the line. Knapp had a trey and a free throw.
Hayes hit a trifecta and had 4 points for the Lady Vikings.
The Lady Bobcats extended the lead to 27-21 at the half as Kimbler hit three more 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the second quarter.
Hayes and Thompson combined for 9 points for the Lady Vikings.
Green opened up a 40-28 lead in the third quarter as Kimbler and Kame Sweeney combined for 11 points.
In the fourth quarter, Knapp hit two 3-pointers and scored 7 points and Kimbler had 5 points including 3-of-4 at the line.
Malone and Payton Hunter had 4 points each in the quarter for Symmes Valley and Hayes added a triple.
Symmes Valley visits South Gallia on Saturday. Green hosts Portsmouth Notre Dame on Monday.
