Ohio Valley Motorsports Show set for Saturday

ASHLAND, Ky. — Veteran race promoter T. J. Layne will be hosting the 1st Annual Ohio Valley Motorsports Show presented by Premier Physical & Occupational Therapy Saturday at the Boyd County Convention & Arts Center outside of Ashland.

Motorsports is a big part of life in the Tri-State region with several motorsports facilities and hundreds of racers. Thousands of people each Saturday night in the summer spend their evening at a local motorsports venue in the Tri-State.

The Ohio Valley Motorsports Show is about promoting motorsports in the tri-state. Motorsports venues that include Ona Speedway, Portsmouth Raceway Park, Willard Kartway, I-64 Motorplex, and Atomic Speedway will all be in attendance to promote their upcoming 2020 season.

The largest bulk of vendors will be setup selling parts for dirt track racing, drag racing, asphalt short track racing, and go-kart racing. There will also be motorsports apparel and collectible vendors and motorsports photography vendors setup.

Retired racers will also be honored at the show with the Ohio Valley Racers Reunion set from noon-2 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., all retired racers will be brought on stage for a ceremony honoring them with a commemorative Ohio Valley Racers Reunion certificate. All retired racers in any form of motorsports are invited.

Race fans in attendance will be treated to a drivers forum at 2:00 pm that will include over 10 of the tri-state region’s best drivers, including former World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series winner Jackie Boggs. The drivers forum will include an interview with event MC’s Chuck Greenslate and Ashley Tackett as well as a Fan Q&A.

The Ohio Valley Motorsports Show will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is only $5 for ages 13 and up. Ages 12 and under will be free with the first 50 kids receiving a souvenir checkered flag. For more information visit www.ohiovalleymotorsportsshow.com.
